3 Levels of starting a successful skincare brand #TheTAYWay
L1. Find a lab and build your brand with that labs ahmayzing formulas. This is referred to as white label, prive label, or OEM. This will give you time to build your brand, your base, your vibe etc. No base, no sales. So focus on building your base darlings. Annnnd you have the insurance of the lab just incase you end up with a lawsuit on your hands. Yes people sue for breakouts, allergic reactions, broken glass, slip and falls 🤪etc etc... sooo skincare beauty brand insurance is a must. This gives you a chance to truly learn the business before risking it all. It might turnout that the beauty business at the brand owner level is just not for you. Not everyone has the vibe or the skillset to sell skincare. I don’t care how low the barrier of entry is. Everything is not for everybody. Know thy self. And move accordingly. If it doesn’t workout for you, don’t be bitter and hate on those that it does workout for. That’s bumshit. It serves no one and hurts no one but youuuuuuu. 😘😇 Maybe your calling is beauty media (vlogger blogger) or beauty pr. Or beauty brand package design. There are many ways to become part of the beauty industry outside of owning a brand. Do your TAYsearch.

L2. The next level is to tweak the labs formula. Kinda like co-creating with your favorite lab 🧪 . You add your little touch to make the formula your own. It’s not 100% custom, but it can really make you stand out as a brand. At this level you want to continue to build your base and build on the unique vibe of your offering. People buy vibes above all else. When people see TAYsha.. the vibe is instantly “pricey without apology or explanation” PERIOD. You won’t ever have a cheap product from me or a product with my name on it on your bathroom counter that didn’t cost ya a few coins. That’s just my vibe. Because it’s a true reflection of my life. L3. The last level is a 100% custom product via your favorite lab.
Lead time of about 16-20 weeks. 😖
R&D fees range from about $5,000- $100,000 a month depending on the lab and product. Fee's provide full access to R&D chemists, procurement teams, a dedicated project manager, and includes preservative challenge testing, stability assessment and component compatibility to assure your product’s best chances for success in the market.
At this level you’re selling major units. Your vibe is solidified. Your distribution is etha direct via your skin spa, your retail outlets, or major partnerships like Bergdorfs, Wholefoods, and QVC.
In a nutshell, you have options. Don’t let these losers and haytas distract you from creating that skincare wellness brand of your dreams. Get it how you live darlings. And remember your brand and your market sets your price, not people who are not your market. They nor their opinions matter. Tuff titty, but it’s true. But I digress. The labs I use are all owned by brilliant woman. Which is rare in this business. It’s deeper than skincare for me. It’s deeper than slapping my name on a product and selling it at a premium. My brand and base knows this. It’s outsiders and jealous one’s who just don’t get it. And that’s not my issue. That’s theirs. But they don’t and have NEVER stopped me from selling a got dayum thing. 🤩 My vibe is a vibe that people pay top dollar to support and I am forever grateful for that. Drake is half American half Canadian (unique) and he’s a cutie. He must be really smart 🤓. I can’t see Tay paying attention to no dummy. He is at the top of his field, so his intellectual status must be top tier. I must admit I never really listened to his music until Tay started recommending it. So far I like everything suggested.
